For energetic, vibrant people, living in Miami means you get to enjoy outdoor activities year round – and that it’s bathing suit season all year long!

Thankfully, though, there are numerous world-class gyms and fitness centers all around town offering the latest in state-of-the-art workouts. Whether it be their structured group fitness classes, one-on-one training sessions, cutting-edge equipment (or some combination of all three), we’ve found the following facilities to be some of the most fun and effective places to work up a sweat.

David Barton Gym (200 S. Biscayne Blvd., 15th Floor, Miami; 305- 517-3442)

Situated in downtown Miami, the 30,000-square-foot, industrial-like space features yoga, private pilates and mat classes, fight training, cycling, and boxing, along with tons of weights, cardio, and strength machines. The David Barton Gym says its top two priorities are: 1. Creating an exciting energy that affects one’s emotions and awareness; 2) Helping people get the body of their dreams.

Pilathon (2700 N. Miami Ave., Miami; 305-728-7800)

Though primarily focused on Pilates, Pilathon offers “Mix ‘N’ Match” in guided cardiovascular exercise that includes yoga, TRX, RealRyder indoor cycling, indoor rowing and the newly-introduced DaVinci BodyBoard. In fact, the sheer variety offered here ensure that your workout will never get stale. In addition to the spacious workout areas, Pilathon also offers saunas, steambaths and some of the friendliest staff you’ll find anywhere.

Legacy Fit Wynwood (77 N.E. 24th St., Miami; 305-799-0850)

Founded by athlete, entrepreneur and author Manning Sumner, Legacy Fit specializes in high intensity partner interval classes and private personal training. The “boot camp”-style workouts will push you to your limits with a mixed protocol of sprinting, long-distance treks, and weight training.

Soul Cycle (360 San Lorenzo Ave., Coral Gables; 305-740-3600)

SoulCycle is indoor cycling re-invented; the belief at this globally renowned facility is that fitness can be joyful and done as a community. The club promises not just to change bodies, but to changes lives.

Barry’s Bootcamp Midtown (3252 N.E. First Ave., #105, Miami; 786-725-5791)

The club’s signature hour-long workouts include 25 to 30 minutes of interval cardiovascular treadmill routines and 25 to 30 minutes of strength-training, utilizing free weights, resistance bands, medicine balls and other equipment. Instructors, muscle groups and even workout segments vary throughout the week so that no two classes are ever the same.
