Hottest Trends in Luxury for the New Year

January 15, 2017

While the temperatures are dropping in the Northeast, the fashion scene in Miami is heating up. We’ve uncovered 2017’s “must have” items for the New Year.

Beauty
Mane Event: It’s all about being coiffed this year. Tresses are less mess, and more refined. Polished ponies, sleek side parts, bold bobs and lovely “lobs,” take center stage in this fashion show we call “life.” Get the au currant look with help from products like Oribe’s Dry Texturizing Spray and Balmain Paris Hair Couture’s Leave-In Conditioning Spray (both available online at BergdorfGoodman.com)

Sleeping Beauty: Nothing makes you look more youthful or beautiful than a good night’s sleep. The “must have” sleep essentials of 2017 are products by Slip. Thanks to this new line of sleeping accessories, snoozing just got chic. Cozy-up in 2017 with their signature pillow case, which claims to ward off split ends, protect your ‘do and keep your skin supple. Slip’s eye mask, blocks unfriendly morning light, leaving you feeling renewed and refreshed – whenever you decide to rise and shine. Slip’s products are all so perfect accessories for jetsetters craving some shut eye at 30,000 feet. (Available online at New-A-Porter.com, $45).

Shoes
Best foot forward: While sky-high stilettos are a classic, your peds will thank you in 2017 because it’s all about the low, chunky heel – a la Manolo Blahnik. Even the king of towering heels himself, Christian Louboutin, is turning out a lower, more functional, but-oh-so-fashionable shoe.
Sparkly embellishments is also trending in the New Year. From furry accents (Sergio Rossi) to feathers (Giuseppe Zanotti) and jeweled adornment (pink flat, Dolce and Gabbana), think “high drama” – at least from the ankle, down.

Accessories
Made in the Shade: Cult favorite Illesteva has reimagined a fan-favorite. The “Leonard” style has an updated look for 2017. The new “Leonard Mask” maintains its predecessor’s classic lines, sans frame.
Illestevia, Leonard Mask (available at Illesteva, 2369 NW 2nd Ave, Miami, FL 3312. $190)
Shady lady: Looking to spice up your life? Don’t call it a comeback. Spice Girl alum, and celebrated fashion designer, Victoria Beckham is going for the gold with her line’s Aviator-style gold and perforated leather mirror sunnies. (available at Bergdorf Goodman, $980)

Keep it Classic: The Goyard tote is a classic wardrobe essential that proves to be the “it” item, decade after decade. This seemingly simple accessory will transform your everyday outfit into a stylish ensemble. It’s the perfect accessory, whether you’re hitting the sand, slopes or city streets. (Goyard Classic Tote, $1,600, available at Maison Goyard at Bal Harbour Shops).

Travel
Luggage – Planning your next adventure? Packing precious items? Why trust your beloved possessions to sub-par luggage? Rimowa offers serious protection against the elements – and clumsy luggage handlers. Polycarbonate Salsa Deluxe, $1,500, Available at Rimowa.com

Wellness
Leave it to Gwennie (Paltrow, that is) – Guru of all things Goop – to curate a collection of must-have fitness fashion and accessories. Our picks from her curated collection? APL’s Techloom Pro Sneakers (in gold, $160), Electric & Rose’s Yoga Towel ($65), and Hedge’s Dune Racerback Tennis Dress ($235). (All available on Goop.com).

Let’s hear it for the boys! What’s trending in menswear:
Men have a major place in 2017’s fashion-forward movement. The look for the New Year is divided, though; some top designers are leaning toward clean and classic, while others are going more Avant-guard (even grunge). From Nineties streetwear to hiker-inspired looks – and everything in between – men have a variety of looks to choose from.
